It was my first trip to Puttaparthi, India to see my beloved
Lord Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba. When I was first told
that I would be able to go with the group from Katong
Sai Centre to visit Baba. I was both very excited yet
extremely nervous. Unlike the veterans, I had no idea
what to do or say in the event that I met Swami.
Nevertheless, my brother and I packed our bags and
flew off to India with the group. The ashram had a very
loving atmosphere and all the devotees were very friendly.
In the ashram, life was totally different compared to
life in Singapore. We used to wake up around 3 AM (India
time). This was really a test of our will power.
My first darshan was the best experience I had during
the trip. Enduring the wait of several hours and the
bitter freezing cold in the morning, was worth it when
Swami came within a metre of me during darshan. I never
thought that Swami would come this close to me.
I learnt a lot from this trip and it was a very good
experience. All the Singaporean devotees there were
like one big family. All of us wore the red Singapore
scarves. There were around 250 Singaporean devotees.
We were all united. I really enjoyed my stay at heaven.
I am looking forward to my next trip.
