Swami advices :-
"Education has two aspects; the first is related to external and worldly education, which is nothing but acquiring bookish knowledge. In the modern world, we find many well versed and highly qualified in this aspect. The second aspect known as Educare is related to human values. The word Educare means to bring out that which is within. Human values are latent in every human being; one cannot acquire them from outside. They have to be elicited from within. Educare means to bring out human values. 'To bring out' means to translate them into action."
Feedback in the form of questionnaires/surveys are an invaluable tool for researching the attitudes, images, concerns, needs, loyalty, and priorities held by a group of interest. By creating a questionnaire and collecting responses from a sample, we can draw a profile of the group as a whole, and perhaps perform some cause-and-effect analysis to understand the source of those feelings (such as satisfaction levels, expectations, and key shortcomings). The feedback findings can then support continuous improvement to the whole SSEHV programme.
There is no single form of obtaining feedback which is free from drawbacks. However the advantages of this method (questionnaires/surveys) of feedback are:
- it permit parents to express views anonymously and free from the real or imagined intimidation of direct confrontations with gurus
- it allow parents to express their opinions on many issues at various levels.
- it is inclusive and representative, if there is a good response rate.
- it requires only a modest time commitment on the part of those involved.
- they are sometimes useful for analyzing trends over a number of years.
With this in mind a feedback committee within KPSG was formed to draw up a set of questionnaires that will cover most of the centers activities from the SSEHV programme right to the level of logistical support provided to the parents.
The committee finally came up with a set of questions which covered most of the pertinent area of activities conducted by the centre. A total of 45 feedback questions were drafted and that became the basis of Katong's Feeback Survey.
The areas of activities covered are as follows:-
- EHV Curriculum/Program
- Communication Between Gurus/Students/Parents
- Katong Centre Library Facilities
- Excellence & Merit Award Program
- SSEHV Student Transport System
- SAI Tuition Program
- Parents Study Circle
- Monthly Combined Sessions
- Seva Activities
- Katong's Annual Events

Feedback Year 2005 Results:-
The results of the initial feedback responses are shown by double clickling the animated graph on the left. The initial results were very encourging and most parents had full confidence in the whole SSEHV programme at Katong. This was very satisfying to see as it gave the moral boost to all the volunteers who have worked hard and this endorsement gave them the extra drive to do more for the whole programme.
If any you have any comments with regard to the feedback please contact Bro Kish at kranai@starhub.net.sg.
